Create and distribute sustainability ratings digitally
In close co-operation with Inrate, soxes has designed and implemented a new web solution with which sustainability ratings are created and made available to customers online for download via a web account. An MS Access database was replaced by an MS SQL database with a web front end (Angular/KendoUI). The ratings are based on a complex versioned rating model that can be scaled by Inrate. The rated investment universe is regularly updated via several interfaces and includes the issuers of the most frequently used global benchmarks for listed equities, bonds, private companies and property. For individual clients, data feeds can be retrieved for their core banking system (e.g. Avaloq). This technological modernisation not only enables more efficient data management, but also seamless integration of interfaces to renowned financial data providers such as MSCI and Thomson Reuters. Regular updates of the analysed investment universe are carried out automatically via these interfaces, which ensures an up-to-date and precise data basis.
Independent further development possible
Since the application went live, soxes has provided maintenance, support and customised further development as part of a maintenance contract. One of the main objectives of the new application was to enable analysts to further develop the rating model without IT support. This was achieved through an administration front-end that allows analysts to adjust the several hundred rating criteria at any time. Furthermore, finalised ratings should be available for publication in real time. The ratings are worked on in parallel at several decentralised locations in Switzerland and abroad, which is ideally supported by web technology.
Customer portal for real-time information
Another milestone in the project was the launch of a new customer portal in 2020, which enables Inrate customers to access and download the sustainability ratings in real time. This feature is crucial for asset managers and financial service providers who rely on up-to-date information to create sustainable and financially attractive portfolios and investment products.
Effectiveness meets flexibility
The web technology enables Inrate analysts to work on the ratings in a decentralised manner and simultaneously at several locations in Switzerland and abroad. The administration front end allows the analysts to adapt the several hundred rating criteria flexibly and without IT support, which ensures continuous further development of the rating model.
Support and further development
Since the application successfully went live in September 2020, soXes has not only provided maintenance and support, but also enables individual further developments as part of a maintenance contract. This proactive support ensures that the application always meets the latest requirements and developments in the field of sustainable financial valuation.
