Industry 4.0 is the term for the comprehensive digitalisation (digital transformation) of industrial production in the future.
In this context, not only individual procedures or processes of production are considered, but the entire value chain. Suppliers, logistics and even the customer are all regarded as a complex system that needs to be brought together under an integrated communication system.
The term Industry X.0 symbolises the speed of technological developments. Unlike Industry 4.0, digitalisation will not be limited to automation in manufacturing, but will require a restructuring of the entire company in order to sustainably increase growth opportunities.
