If you want to know how AI is actually used in Swiss companies, you will find specific use cases, solutions, and technical expertise here. The project examples on this page show what is technically possible and economically viable.

In this article, you will learn:

  • How AI detects errors, analyzes images, and filters data faster than any human eye.
  • AI is more than LLMS. It has a wide range of applications in everyday life and at work.
  • How soxes implements such solutions in a truly profitable way.

Use Case 1: AI in practice: Our projects

soxes has developed a mobile app for BBT that uses artificial intelligence specifically where it brings real benefits: in improving document scans. Especially on older devices, AI ensures that insurance documents are automatically optimized, sources of error are reduced, and manual rework is significantly reduced. The result is higher processing quality with less effort for employees. Thanks to its modular design with isolated instances, the solution can also be used as a white label product for other insurers.

Use Case 2: AI for application analysis

Use Case 2: AI for application analysis
  • 1 Project Overview

Assessment Gate AG offers companies a personnel selection program that combines psychological knowledge, data analysis, and artificial intelligence. Together with soxes, the existing HR solution “Prisma World Solution” was modernized to automate the application process and make it more efficient.

  • 2 Challenge

The original solution was complex and offered little automation. However, companies needed a system that could create valid aptitude tests with minimal effort, make results comparable, and provide a precise basis for decision-making. The goal was to simplify the process and improve quality.

  • 3 Solution

soxes expanded the platform technically and functionally. A user-friendly web application was created using a modern REST interface. At its core is an AI model in the statistics program “R,” which automatically checks applicant data. Intuitive dashboards facilitate comparison, while individualized development reports create new added value for employee reviews.

  • 4 Result

The new HR solution speeds up application processes and supports data-driven decisions. Thanks to AI, candidates are assessed efficiently, objectively, and transparently. Companies benefit from a modern solution that saves time and improves the quality of personnel selection.

Use Case 3: Optimization of production quality at Emmi

soxes developed an AI-supported prototype for quality assurance in yogurt production for the Emmi Group. The solution uses Microsoft Custom Vision to automatically check whether the correct lids are on the cups. This allows “fruit images” to be analyzed in real time, errors to be detected immediately, and corrections to be initiated directly. The use of AI reduces human error, lowers the manual inspection effort, and ensures consistently high quality. Thanks to agile collaboration, soxes was able to implement the system in just six weeks, making a noticeable contribution to production reliability and compliance with Emmi’s quality standards.

More interesting Use Cases

1. Smart error detection in household appliances

Challenge: Electronic devices such as washing machines, televisions, and vacuum cleaners generate a multitude of error messages. Interpreting these correctly and providing appropriate solutions is often complex and time-consuming for service departments.

Our solution: With an AI-supported error detection database, we have developed a system that analyzes huge amounts of error messages and derives statistically relevant patterns from them. Artificial intelligence not only recognizes the most common errors, but also provides a data-based analysis of why they occur and which solutions have proven successful in the past.

Added value through AI: Through continuous learning, AI builds up a wealth of digital experience that helps companies fix errors faster and more accurately. This reduces downtime, lowers costs, and noticeably improves customer service.

2. AI-powered image recognition for gemstones

Challenge: Identifying gemstones requires expertise and experience. However, it is often difficult for dealers, jewelers, or collectors to identify stones quickly and reliably, as color, shape, and cut can vary greatly. Traditional identification methods are time-consuming and prone to error.

Our solution: With AI-based image recognition software, a smartphone photo is all that is needed. The image is evaluated in real time by cloud AI, which analyzes characteristics such as structure, color, and reflection based on thousands of training data points and identifies the gemstone.

Added value through AI: AI recognizes patterns that are difficult for the human eye to detect and links new image material to its learned knowledge. This enables it to deliver accurate results in seconds. This not only increases efficiency for retailers and in the gemstone trade, but also opens up new applications in research, education, and quality assurance.

3. Free-text queries for medical practices

Challenge: In medical practices, large amounts of information such as patient records, prescriptions, and appointments must be quickly accessible on a daily basis. Traditional search functions are often too rigid and time-consuming.

Our solution: With AI-supported free-text query software, doctors and teams can ask questions in natural language to the database. The AI translates the queries into precise database queries and immediately delivers the relevant information.

Added value through AI: Instead of cumbersome clicks, a simple question is all it takes. The AI takes care of the complex processing. This saves valuable time, makes processes more intuitive, and increases efficiency in everyday practice. At the same time, the system can be transferred to other industries where large amounts of data need to be made accessible quickly.

4. Automated actions from emails

Challenge: Manually processing emails is time-consuming, especially for recurring tasks such as payment requests or appointment confirmations.

Our solution: AI software analyzes incoming emails, recognizes relevant content such as payment information, and automatically triggers the appropriate actions.

Added value through AI: Thanks to machine learning and natural language processing, AI performs recurring routine tasks reliably and error-free. In addition to payments, appointments can also be created, documents forwarded, tasks created, or customer support requests processed automatically. Companies save time, avoid errors, and increase their service quality.

Additional use cases:

  • Scheduling: Automatic creation of calendar entries from appointment requests.
  • Document forwarding: Attachments are forwarded to the relevant departments.
  • Task creation: Emails are converted into tasks in project management tools.
  • Reminders: Automatic sending of reminder emails for important deadlines.
  • Customer support: Requests are forwarded directly to the support team.
  • Reporting: Status reports are automatically extracted and integrated into the reporting dashboard.
