Container are computing environments in which individual apps or services are executed. They contain only the necessary files and libraries needed for operation and therefore have a very small size. Due to the lean design and the sharing of the operating system, they can be easily moved back and forth between different environments. Docker is one of the most widely used technologies in the field and offers many features and a vibrant developer community.

Why does soxes use containers?
They are mainly used for hosting applications in the cloud. They offer the possibility to run applications in the cloud with little effort. Solutions with a microservice architecture can, for example, be divided into several Docker containers that communicate with each other. With the open source system Kubernetes, containerised applications can also be provided, scaled and managed automatically. Container nodes can be created and monitored with Kubernetes. If a node fails or the system is overloaded, it can independently restore nodes or request more resources from the cloud. These mechanisms allow systems to be operated in the cloud in a highly available and scalable way.
Where did soxes use containers?
When simple applications or complex software solutions are operated in the cloud, soxes uses containers for deployment. Docker containers can be operated on all common operating systems and used flexibly. With Kubernetes, high availability and scalability of the solutions are achieved. These advantages were also used, for example, in the complex communication and management solution instaSOLUTION. A combination of Docker containers, Kubernetes and clusters make the application enormously performant.
