The Percona XtraDB Cluster is a highly available cluster solution for MySQL databases. The open source solution integrates Percona Server and Percona XtraBackup with the Galera Cluster library to enable Synchronous Multi-Source Replication. The cluster consists of nodes that all contain the same data set and synchronise across all instances. MySQL instances can be integrated into the cluster as nodes at any time. It is also possible to separate nodes from the cluster and run them as independent MySQL servers.
