Stardecor works with a self-developed Access solution that provides customised support for inventory management and order processing. soxes was commissioned to migrate the Access database to SQL Server and subsequently take over maintenance and further development.
How the application works
The application has grown over the years and supports all core processes from warehouse planning, order processing and production planning to invoicing and shipping at home and abroad. Complex interfaces to the SAGE accounting system, WinDream DMS and various APIs for automated data exchange in XML format have to be maintained.
Process optimisation through modernisation of the database
With the SQL server database newly separated from the front end, Stardecor no longer has any size restrictions and the basis has been laid for building a customer web portal and standardised APIs for automated data exchange with major customers in the medium term.
