Testex

The UniLab solution digitizes Testex’s order processing and includes order entry, planning and processing for sales and production. The process chain is monitored via checklists, and all services such as physical and chemical tests can be customized. Various languages and units of measurement are supported.

UniLab automates the processing of test data from the laboratory. Data can be exported in various formats and used for further processing. Statistics in finance, sales and production are based on real-time data. Documents are created based on business processes.

Why .NET?

The software was developed with the .NET ecosystem and the Telerik framework, which offers stability and flexibility. UniLab has been successfully in use since 2016 and is continuously being further developed.

The test matrix lies at the heart of the OEKO-TEX® certification process. It is used to determine which samples must be tested with which parameters. In the past, this process was carried out manually with two thick manuals of over 70 pages. This was not only time-consuming, but also quite demanding for the users, because a lot left room for interpretation and constant adjustments were necessary.

The challenge

soxes built the so-called Test Matrix Application (TMA) outside of the ERP system, which was also created by soxes. This separation offered the advantage that parts could be gradually replaced by microservices while the rest of the main system continued to run undisturbed.

Solution

The resulting application from soxes not only offers an intuitive user interface, but also a powerful backend that enables users to process orders efficiently, capture samples and perform matrix calculations. Thanks to digitalization, training times have also been reduced and sources of error minimized. 

In the course of our re-engineering, we make use of proven third-party components where it makes sense and is efficient. One example of this is the use of Azure Logic App, which allows us to seamlessly integrate the complicated workflows into the microservice environment specially set up by soxes.

Result

Re-engineering and digitalizing the process has brought many benefits to TESTEX. The re-engineering has not only led to efficiency gains, but has also improved the quality and accuracy of the entire certification process without disrupting operations. With the support of soxes, TESTEX has proven that tradition and innovation can go hand in hand.
