Re-engineering for the leap to modern technologies
Initial situation
The personnel data of the Diocese of St. Gallen was previously managed in a simple Access application. As part of this project, soxes was commissioned by the Diocese of St. Gallen to create a software solution that would allow the data of internal, external, and freelance employees to be recorded and managed in a user-friendly manner.
Challenge: Digitalization of personnel data
soxes developed a new web-based solution for this purpose, based on ASP.NET and Java Script. The new application enables simpler, faster, and more sustainable use of personnel data within the Diocese of St. Gallen. Duplications can be eliminated and the technical basis can be brought up to a modern level.
Solution
In the application, individuals can be assigned various roles (e.g., chaplain) and assigned to multiple organizational units (e.g., parishes). Users can also create their own analysis lists and simple reports using practical filters. In addition, the application allows data to be exported for import into Outlook or into a format readable by Adobe InDesign.
Result: Time savings thanks to modernization
The current solution has greatly simplified the management of personnel data in the Diocese of St. Gallen. Since the personnel database is stored centrally, users can access it from different locations. Different user rights allow for targeted control of usage. Thanks to this new solution, the diocese can now create a printable version of the personnel directory with little effort.
